"I am very thankful for the opportunity of receiving skilled on-site help from the EAP program. I highly value the sessions with my EAP counselor. Her warmth, compassion and insight allowed the personal growth I needed to more effectively deal with my daily stress. After our sessions I always felt more positive. I am using my coping skills to help me be more balanced, tolerant and effective in my work."
"The Care-Giver support group was suggested to me at a time I was taking care of my wife. In a situation that holds little hope of improvement and no hope of a break. It is so easy to want to give up. The information and support I have gotten from this group helps empower me. But, really, this group’s work is to get important information out to suffering, frustrated and helpless care givers like me and is so important. I have been attending for about 2-3 years off and on and during this time I have met so many others who are in this situation and in need of this information and I know there are many more. PS. I could go on & on"
"The Employee Assistance Program has been extremely helpful in both my professional and personal life. The counseling I received while going through my divorce and the passing of my mother was the only thing that got me through. My doctor has also recommended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modules that have helped me with several problems that have plagued me for years. I can’t say enough about the value of their services and how my life is better than ever."
"The Employee Assistance Program has been an excellent resource for my family. We have received assistance regarding elderly parents and end of life issues as well as other difficult life challenges like child rearing and work life balance. I personally have been impressed with the level of support and ease of access. I have recommended it to several coworkers who have also found this resource invaluable."
"The EAP program here at LLNL has been literally a lifesaver to me, and by extension, my family. Being able to speak in a safe environment with people that know our 'special' environment here at the Lab, and are so caring about us as their clients, has been priceless!"
"I have been working with the Employee Assistance Program for quite some time now and I wouldn’t be where I am right now without it. It’s been so beneficial to my career and in my personal life."
"With a very demanding job and schedule, having the EAP resource on site is such a convenience. It has proven to be a safe environment where I can openly express myself and discuss issues in my life and more effective ways to cope with stress. I have learned to create healthy boundaries and improve my communication with others. It has given me a better perspective on how to prioritize the important things in life, allowing for a much more healthy work/life balance. Most importantly, it has brought me a sense of stability and love within myself that has made me a much healthier and happy person."
"I am writing to express my appreciation for the counseling I received through the EAP. I have benefitted greatly from my sessions. By gaining better insight into myself and developing a variety of self-management skills, I have learned to deal more effectively with stressful situations at home and at work. The private counseling I received through the EAP program has greatly increased my confidence and resilience. As a result, I have become a happier, more satisfied, and productive employee.
I often encourage other laboratory employees to seek the benefits of the EAP program. I believe everyone at one time or another gets thrown one of life’s curve balls. In one’s personal life, it is not uncommon to be confronted with marital or relationship issues, childrearing challenges, aging parents, death of a love one or dear friend. Likewise, at work one could easily encounter high levels of stress, have conflicts with other employees, or experience loss. Any of these situations can lead even the most mentally healthy persons to experience stress, sadness, depression or anxiety. While the support of friends and family can be helpful, a trained professional psychologist can provide the best insight and direction to deal with these situations.
I believe the EAP staff is very competent and professional. Although I have been seeing one particular counselor, I have had brief interactions with two other counselors. All of them have been very helpful and very effective. I hope the laboratory will always have this wonderful resource available to its employees. I can testify from first-hand experience that the EAP program is one of the great benefits to working here and I highly encourage all employees to seek assistance whenever they need it."
"I recently had a special needs daughter pass away. This was a very difficult time for me. As she grew sicker, I could not find the resources to care for her. I contacted a counselor at the EAP group. They lined me up with a wonderful group of helpers at a Medical Center, this is part of the support system available to each of us. The EAP Counselor and the Medical Group guided me and supported me through the difficult process of losing someone you love. They helped during and after my daughter’s death.
I greatly appreciate each and every one of my supporters. There is help available for everyone. There is complete confidentiality and acceptance of you and the circumstance that you are facing. Please reach out to them. The EAP Program has many resources and they help you sort things out when you are emotionally and spiritually drained.
My management was fantastic and gracious of my circumstance and supported me through all of the experience. This support matters to employees and I will always appreciate my supervision. They are heroes…"
"I could not be more pleased with the experience, knowledge, and expertise level of EAP counselors. They have been very helpful to me every time I was confronted with unexpected and less than pleasant life changes, providing me with the much needed emotional healing, and expertly guiding me to regaining my sense of well-being."
