Services include confidential counseling, substance use assistance, grief support, return to work evaluations, referrals, and mental health resources. See below to learn how EAP can help you maintain well-being at work and beyond.
Individual Counseling
Short-term counseling is available at no charge for employees and their dependents. Our EAP psychologists offer support for work-related or personal concerns, helping you understand your situation and develop effective coping strategies. Couples counseling may also be available. If needed, referrals to specialized resources can be provided. Appointments are available via telehealth or in person at Site 200.
To schedule an appointment, call (925) 423‑6609, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Group Counseling
Group counseling is available for employees who prefer a shared support setting. Our EAP psychologists facilitate groups that focus on a range of topics, including anxiety, caregiving, leadership, and sleep. Group formats vary and may include educational sessions, interactive discussions, and process-oriented approaches designed to foster connection and personal growth. Participating in a group can help you gain new perspectives, learn coping strategies, and build supportive relationships with others facing similar challenges.
To learn about current group offerings, please contact EAP at (925) 423‑6609.
Return to Work Evaluations
Employees returning after five or more days of leave due to stress or psychological concerns are required to complete an EAP evaluation before resuming work. This assessment ensures readiness and provides information about available support services. If necessary, work restrictions and accommodations will be coordinated with your provider and management.
Please make an appointment with EAP at (925) 423‑6609 if you have been off for a mental health concern and know your return date.
Alcohol & Substance Use Support
Assessment, referral, and case management are available for employees and their families dealing with substance use concerns. Our EAP psychologists provide education and help develop personalized treatment plans. Health insurance benefits may cover substance abuse treatment, which can be accessed directly. CONCERN offers up to 10 counseling sessions for alcohol and substance misuse.
Crisis & Grief Support
EAP offers support groups and educational resources for employees coping with the loss of a colleague or family member. These services are designed to help individuals and teams process grief and find healthy ways to maintain effectiveness while in the workplace.
Presentations & Education
EAP offers presentations on a variety of mental health topics for departments and work groups. Our psychologists are available to attend meetings in person or via WebEx to provide information about the Employee Assistance Program or to address topics of interest.
To request a presentation, please contact EAP at (925) 423‑6609.
Referrals for Specialized Care
